I am working on putting my '67 Firebird on the street. It was rescued from South Carolina a year ago. I live in Houma, Louisiana which is 45 miles southwest of New Orleans on the coast. Since I am waiting for parts for my 1981 Trans Am, I chose to use some parts off the shelf to get it going.
Car is sequence number 1503 and came with the following factory items:
Power Steering
Air Conditioning
Power Gluide
Power 4 wheel drum brakes
326 V-8
I have replace the subframe due to rust-out with a 1968 Camaro unit.
I update the front brakes to disc.
Converted to Saginaw 4 speed manual transmission.
I am installing a 1972 Nova 8.5 10-bolt w/ series 3 posi carraier w/ 3.42 gears.
I have installed full length floor pans along with new brake and fuel lines including a new fuel tank.
Although I have a '66 389 block hanging around, I decided to use one of my '74 350 blocks w/ 0.060 pistons. I have a Comp HE 268 cam. I had installed a set of '67 143 with new Comp valve spring kit to match cam. I pulled the heads off because I broke a rocker arm stud. After removing them I found 4 bent valves which look like they have been hitting something but the piston tops look fine.

So Im now wating for the stock 4C (7.6:1

350 cid) heads to come back from the machine shop. That's a lost of almost 3 points on CR. The induction is a old "Offy" dual quad intake with two 390 Holley vac. sec. carbs. The exhaust is 3 tube full length headers with Thrush Turbos on 2.5" pipes. I have a set of Keystone Klassics 15"X8" on 235/60/15 tires. Hope these pictures upload.
Not to worry, I am building a stroker for the '81 based on a 78 XX 400 block 435 HP@4000 rpms / 575 TQ @ 2500. Then I will return to the '67 Firebird and build a Blown stroker. I have a BDS intake which is bolter to a large bore 6/71 which has been converted to gasoline. Just need the drive setup.
