I dont think Dan has an issue with people post pics of his work. What he has a problem with is other head ports taking pics of his work.

I am not so sure the HP is going away even with the Victor coming out. The numbers they are putting out just keep getting better and better. First 890 on pump gas and now 930+ on pump gas.
Even if the Victor comes out how much better could it get than that. Even in the BBC world you do not see a bunch of 500ish BBCs with single 4s getting 1050HP on pump gas. Not saying they dont, they might but come on. Who would have ever though we we be knocking on the 1000HP door with a 535 Pontiac and inline valves. 10 years ago just the idea would get laughed at.
Sure the Victor will be a nice head but I am not so sure it will be able to do anything a High Port or Tiger could not. It and their D port is after all built on the back of the KRE heads.
And if the power is the same I would buy from a Pontiac only vendor before a generic like Edelbrock.
And who knows what kind of power the will end up with their Hemi, RAV and Warp heads.
We will get a good idea of what the 400 CNC KRE HP can do with 1050s engine on PY.

Does KRE have the Hemi, RAV or Warp6 head on any N/A engine or any running engine for that matter?
What do you mean by this statement "It and their D port is after all built on the back of the KRE heads."

It's obvious your totally bias when it comes to KRE, hey nothing worng with that. But you can count on one hand the number of guys running the out of box 330 cfm heads. There was a thread a week or so ago, asking how many have bolted them on out of the box and what their results where. I think 3 maybe four people responded. I would have thought at least a dozen or more would have responed.

What Dan and Robertson have done with the High Port is amazing, but has a heavy price tag. I was quoted for a complete induction package 400 cfm heads $7500.00 to $8000.00.

Here's whats going to hurt the High Ports, Edelbrocks quality and reputation. There's literally 1000's of guys running Edelbrocks who would love to make more power, but want and affordable head and don't want to pay for someone else is R&D. What's going to happen when Edelbrock
offers a complete head that flows 350-360 cfm, with better cooling better chamber and offer it cheaper the KRE.

Better chamber because it'll have better cooling, where it counts. Edelbrock has done their home work on this new head trust me. They've consulted with the best, they are determine to make it an affordable head, and I believe my source. But of course like every thing else in the Pontiac hobby, the have to play the politics game giving everyone a piece of the pie. Namely head porters. The all have to like it....Butler..SD and know the drill.

A heavy pricetag? You get a ported intake, complete ported heads with rocker shafts, titanium valves,55mm cam with lifters ready to bolt on and make 950 horsepower on pump gas.Sounds cheap to me.

LOL...not for $8000.00 you better add another $2000.00. maybe for $10,000.00. I'm laughing because Kinslers made over 900 hp with Wide Ports complete induction package $6500.00.

Why not.I bought all that for a little less than 8000.00.I didn't get any special deal.
I don't know who Kinsler is.Does he run pump gas?Didn't you make about 200 hp less with your wide ports on pump gas?

Okay I looked up Kinsler. He has a very nice engine with 15 to 1 compression. You seem to like pump gas engines so I don't understand why you're laughing.Greg made 937 hp on pump gas with a small cam.How much would it cost to make more hp with 4 points less compression? Why would you compare 2 engines that are so different?

Agree, if your looking to make 900+ hp it's going to cost in that price range.
$8000.00 to $10,000.00 depending on who's doing the induction package.
Sepcialy if your talking pump gas. But here's the kicker my wide ports ( I've been told ) will go to 400 cfm, but make the same power. For another $1200.00. So my total cost after paying $4500.00 used Wide Ports $5700.00

But I have to agree, with all the stuff needed to make that kind of
power that's what it's going to cost.

Well EC all you have to do is look at their website and they have some blown engines offered. A 1700HP engine that looks to be a billet RAV from the pic and a 2400HP blown Warp engine. As far as NA engines the only one I know about is a 900HP Warp engine that ran on pump gas. But get this, it was a 2000+ HP huffer engine that they were looking for a ignition miss with. So they took the blower off and slapped on a adapter for a carb on the blower intake and ran it. But it had a blower cam, giant zoomie headers and a blower cam. And still made 900HP. Done with a sheet metal 2x4 intake, NA cam and real headers it would have kicked down the 1000HP mark with ease.
I have not talked to a Kauffman in a year and a half. But they were trying to get the Warp head into casting back then. I do know the Dirty Birds head guy took one look at the Warp head and thought he do do a LOT with it.
What its all said and done that head will be the NA king. But its a BBC type custom race head on a Pontiac so its not really a Pontiac. It goes in excess of 500 cfm.
Now the "It and the D port is built on the back of the KRE heads " comment. Its as true as the day is long. KRE has had much greater success with that aluminum D port than anyone would have thought. I would bet they sell them 5-1 over HPs. Jim Butler told me himself he did not think there was any market for a aluminum D port head(very jealous). He said you just can not accelerate a crankshaft through those pinched D ports. Could not have been more wrong. If KRE was not having the success with their D port and HP does anyone really thing Edelbrock would be making these new heads? After all it was them who made us the original head and just sat back and raked it in for 20+ years. Charged us more for our heads vs the Olds and FE heads even though we bought WAY more of our heads. That Pontiac head taking off like it did was a VERY big surprise to Edelbrock.
KRE with the High Port took the Edelbrock head one step further. What they should have done a long time ago and they see what KRE is doing and want a part of it. And they are going to get it too. KRE did the tricks the the HP like the chamber, raising the port, basic things you would do to a sbc race had and made it. Sort of the ultimate RAIV head in aluminum.
This new aluminum D port head is going to be a winner too. Its is going to flow like a race ported iron head,260cfm as cast. And it looks like the Victor head is going to cool that center ex bolt like Langer and Rex are doing to Tigers stock.
Time will tell it these new heads will be able to do things the KRE heads can not. Sure KRE has made some mistakes, but I think they are over. The MR1 is every bit the block the IA2 is. And has larger oil passages than the IA2. And every IA2 has not been perfect either, but Bob and Frank have always made it good.
But now way on the face of the earth would Edelbrock be making 2 new heads on a 40 year dead engine if some dairy farming Pontiac nuts in Ohio were not crazy enough to start a company, make 5 different kinds of heads and 3 different types of blocks for the "dead" engine. We should "thank" them and not revile them.
Edelbrock would just sit back and let AP make the Tigers since they sell very few of them and were never a threat. And just sit back and make the RPM head, charge us more for it and rake in the cash.
It took KRE for them to see what they are missing.

Gach, I am not a KRE guy. I really am not, I am a Pontiac guy. If joe blow company South Dakota made all the things KRE made I would be for them too.
Its these small Pontiac only companies that have made it possible for our hobby to be where it is. Not the Jegs, Summits, Edelbrocks, Darts, Brodixs of the world. If up to them we all would be throwing out our beloved Pontiacs in favor of generic BBCs when we wanted to go fast.
God love the Pontiac nuts crazy enough to stake their limited resources on making these new parts. If they just wanted to make money they would never have done it.
I am not so sure the chamber will be all that better than a KRE one, its pretty good. And KRE sells HPs complete that go 350-365 cfm for 3000-3300$.
And who know, KRE migh have something up their selves too.
The out of the box HP runs very well too. I have heard of guy getting 750hp out of them as is and thats pretty good.
Not sure if I get it and the HP casting quality stuff. The aluminum D port has been said to have a good quality casting and I bet they come from the same place. But there were probably a few sets around that shoudnt have been.
I am for all things Pontiac and not generic, mass marketing wish it were like BBC stuff. Pontiac people are not Pontiac people because they want to be like everyone else. Pontiac will never be the level of chevys as far as acceptance and thats how I want it. Its no fun being like them. Better to beat then and watch them fume.
I like being the "Pontiac guy" at our strip.
Now my little group is going to expand. Just bought my wife a 79 WS6 400 4 speed TA top race and my brother is taking out the 350 sbc out of his 86 Firebird and putting in a Pontiac small journal 428.

The first few Warp heads are to be cast within weeks and will flow somewhere in the 400s as cast. A engine and numbers should be up by late summer. Cast intakes will be in the future also.
The high end NA racing end will be dominated by it.

That engine has been sitting in the garage several months now.I have a pretty nice 69 firebird to put it in.The track we go to was repaved completely in concrete this winter,so we'll wait on it to broken in.There have been several wrecks so far this season.I also have four other old cars I tinker with and more work than I can do.Thankfully no money problems.Just time problems.
