Kicking Ass.. with E-Heads ! The guy who put Pontiacís back on the map.

Zedo 07-01-19 07:17AM

you got that right. he did it with a basic combination.
no fancy exotic heads. amazing.
most don't realize he was beating big block chevy engines,
that were like nearly twice the size of his Pontiac in cubic inches.
my hat is off to this guy. he's right up there with the rest of the Pontiac legends, in my book.

7.04 bad ass.

Thereís another 70 GTO out there with Warp 6 heads, absolutely gorgeous car, itís like a $200-225,000.00 dollar car, I mean state or the art. Iíll tell you what it better run circles around Big Chief E-Head Motor. It better be more then .2 tenths faster. If not itís going to be a total embarrassment To Kauffman Warp 6 heads.

Big Chief got ( or given/sponsored ) two sets of CV-1ís over a year 1/2 ago they never made it on his motor. I wonder what the hold up is.

PS: chief been faster then that 7.04

Noticed BC popping what looked like a single miss each time his burnout's sung really high, was that his rev-limiter kicking? Burn-outs seemed smooth and identical compared to others Ö must be a computer. Still remember the Butler 200mph Pontiac claim from years ago, weren't they first to build a Poncho that got there in quarter? Still going strong in BC engine bay I think although I heard there was friction between BC and Butler. Wish they'd start a Banshee kit car. They could make provisions for options adding power electronically and call it the first "hybrid hot-rod", the Butler Banshee. Original was a pretty thing. Heard next Camaro was going to do something like that so they better hurry. IAll in a Banshee with 500-1000HP electronic add. Still sound sweet and get 30mpg on the street. Dust ANY Ferrari ever built. I know, fantasy probably, but some do become reality :)

rev limiter.

Just like a bracket car.
you come out and do everything the same each time from burnout to staging.
Maybe adjust for track temp/ conditions: air density/fuel tune up,
how much air press/heat you need in the tires, engine & trans temp etc.
Notice he does not roll through the water box.
He drives around and backs into it.
Reason? Some of the water box operators get a little to generous with the water & make a puddle out of it.
When you roll through it your fronts will pick up the water .
If the track is not hot or it is at night that water can drip off your fronts when you are staged and can cause unwanted wheel spin at launch.
This holds true especially for racers that are not allowed to burnout past the starting line.
If you are on regular tread street tires avoid the water altogether. It does no good.
dry burnout just long enough to knock the dirt off them.
