Hi there, my name is Russell, and I have just become a Pontiac owner with the purchase of a 1957 Pontiac Star Chief 2 door hardtop. I previously owned for the last 10 years a 1956 New Zealand assembled RHD Chevy BelAir, which got sold to finance the Star Chief.

The reason I sold the Chevy and bought the Pontiac is because every man and his dog owns a Chevy, and when you go on a run or to a car show you were just one of 100's. To my knowledge there is only one other 1957 Pontiac 2 door hardtop in NZ, but it is a Super Chief.

Sorry to have to tell you this but the Star Chief is no longer Pontiac powered, but has a 5.3L from a 2004 Chevy SS-R, but hopefully you will forgive me for this indiscretion.

Well I hope I can now post to the forum. Anyway I have obtained a '63 Grand Prix to sooth my soul while I restore my '67 GTO. I bought her brand new and ordered what I could use as it was my daily driver in '67.

I joined this forum so I could get tech info and share my experiences with some other Pontiac fans. The GTO was my second Pontiac. I had to have a car because my '57 Star Chief convertable lost the cam and lifters and I din't have time and enough money to fix it so I bought the GTO. Finally about 6 years later and no job had to have some money so I sold the '57. Bad deal but young and foolish.

Anyway I will try to put some pics up for all to see.
